Went to go record the performances at the Beatroot Grand Championships 2012 at Loft in Space (a couple of the recordings are already up at Cabbit Records). First time recording off the soundboard with my Tascam DR-05. Was mostly a success. The right channel was soft on the board, so it's soft on my recording. The venue was only blasting the left channel over their sound system, so productions which made use of "stereo" suffered a bit. Hope Loft in Space fixes this soon. Was also bummed that Monarx did not perform that night.
Better luck next time.

Heh. Found these photos that Randi took while working on Cabbit Records.
Playing around with some slideshow code that I might use.

Got a Tascam DR-05 just recently and went to go record Alt/Air and the Deadbeats the following day. I haven't been out to shows for awhile, but it's funny how people still remember me. Would've helped if they didn't.
As simple as the Tascam DR-05 is, there are already a few things I don't like about it. The main one being is that you can hear me press the buttons (if I do) while I'm recording. The second one being that there is no true line-in, so I need a couple of direct boxes or matching transformers in the future if I can start getting access to the soundboard.
So I can't get too serious with the Tascam DR-05, so until I get something better, I'm just going to be recording for fun with it. Will still put up the recordings I record with it though (what else is there to do with it?), just don't expect quality.
Speaking of recordings, starting to rebuild the Cabbit Records site. Check the Releases page.
