rid - cabbit media and design

no one can ever tell you your future. if anything, they should not call it your future, but call it something that might have happened if they told you nothing.

so i got a dell inspiron mini 10. i would have went with one of the asus netbooks, but the keyboard and trackpad design on those are just hard to get used to. the dell inspiron mini 10's keyboard and trackpad felt more natural, and for such a cheap machine, i don't really care if it's not upgradeable or if the ram is soldered.

so between coding and work, i was wondering what kind of games i can play on this. i tried battle-girl and a few other old games, but the drivers for the gma 500 doesn't support 8-bit color. bummer.

then i tried visualboyadvance-m. the processor wasn't fast enough and the emulation wasn't smooth, even with frame skip. the older visualboyadvance was more successful, running final fantasy tactics advance at full speed with frame skip and audio at 22 khz. what bugged me though is that the game boy advance has l and r buttons. and i was looking for games to play during a short break. some of the games i liked were hard to play on a keyboard.

so i finally went with gambatte, a game boy color emulator. runs fast, nice gui, games easy on the keyboard. made me remember how fun kirby games are.
